Welcome to the VC Student Challenge! – 2nd Edition
Are you a student? Then wait no more and jump in to solve the VC student challenge. Complete the challenge and submit your work for a chance to get prizes!
What is the VC Student Challenge?
The Visual Components (VC) Student challenge is a biannual competition for current students who are interested in 3D Simulation. Students solve the challenge provided by VC simulation experts for the chance of winning cool prizes as well as showcasing their skills to the world and possibly, your potential employer.
Prizes:
- 1st place receives 100€ Amazon voucher
- 2nd place receives 50€ Amazon voucher
- 3rd place receives VC Swag
What you need to do
You need to create a layout using Visual Components and record a video of the layout. The layout could show any process you’re interested in such as, an assembly process, warehousing strategy, robotic work cell, a custom machine working, etc.
Notice the following about your layout:
- There should only be one layout + the video of that layout
- The layout cannot be from the eCatalog (The layout has to be originally your idea)
How to participate?
In order to be eligible to participate in this challenge, you must complete the following steps (both):
- Share a short video (<2min) of your layout on either LinkedIn/ Facebook/Twitter, tag our account (Visual Components) and add the hashtag #vcstudentchallenge .
- Share your .vcmx layout here. Make sure to name your layout this way before submitting it: firstnamelastname_VCstudentchallenge
How can I win?
The winner will be selected by our simulations experts based on
- Creativity
- Originality
- Relevance to an industrial application
- Having a story
The winners will be announced on 9 December 2021.

Note! We will only process requests that contain a valid student e-mail.

T&C of the VC Student Challenge
- A participant has to be registered as a current student at an educational institution and should be able to prove their student status.
- In order for an entry to be considered in this challenge, participants need to complete all the requirements: submit your .vcmx layout as well as to publish the video on one of the social media platforms tagging our account (Visual Components) and adding the required hashtag (#vcstudentchallenge).
- The winners will be defined by an impartial simulation expert from Visual Components.
- The winner will be contacted via the social media platform where the video was published on the day of the announcement (9 December 2021). If any of the winners do not respond within 48 hours, the prize will go to the next best participant who fulfills all the requirements.
