About the job

At Visual Components we are building 3D simulation tools to plan factories and optimize production lines. Essentially, it’s 3D games for industrial use. We believe that 3D simulation is the future of planning and we want to make it easily accessible on all platforms (such as mobile devices, AR, VR) through collaborative cloud. In order to make this happen, we are looking for a Cloud Architect.

As a Cloud Architect you will design cloud/ service-based architecture for our future 3D manufacturing simulation products as part of the product development team. You will be responsible for choosing suitable technological solutions and incorporating them into the service architecture together with the team. As a Cloud Architect, it is essential that through your own experience, you can draw on ideas and ways to work with cloud solutions and business. However, this is a group effort and you do not need to know everything alone; you bring the hands-on experience and knowledge about planning the product and we all help take the system to the cloud together.

Your skills should include good working knowledge in following areas: back-end, front-end, web application, full-stack, data/application integration and cloud application deployment. Ideally, you can both plan and be hands-on, are excited about learning and have a collaborative mindset. We believe that this knowledge combined with our existing team’s knowledge of the simulation environment is the perfect mix to make the magic happen.

This will not be built in a day, but we are looking for someone that would have a clear idea of where to start and has had experience building such systems and operating them.

Our ideal candidate would have:

  • Solid experience with at least some of the following: AWS, Google Cloud and/or Microsoft Azure and practical experience developing cloud applications
  • Broad knowledge of tools, frameworks and technologies related to designing, implementing, deploying and hosting software services
  • Strong expertise in agile software development and methods (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
  • Fluent English skills, both written and spoken
  • Ability to ask the right questions and drive troubleshooting with experts
  • Great teamwork and communication skills
  • Programming skills in C#. Knowledge in JavaScript, C++ and Node.js is a plus.
  • Knowledge of back-end services using AWS, Docker, Kubernetes and similar tools
  • Knowledge in front-end development is a plus

What’s in it for you:

  • We are not only looking for someone to just “do the job”, but to share our values and become a full member of the Visual Components family.
  • Be part of the brilliant team building the next generation of simulation and robotics solutions. This is great chance to learn about industrial applications and simulation!
  • The support of a very international team, informal and easy-going work culture where your skills are valued, energetic and motivating working environment, flexible working hours, extensive healthcare and lunch & cultural benefit.
